Banff: A U-haul Adventure

Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada.

I had an idea.

-I was planning to fly into Calgary, Canada, with a friend for a 5-day camping/hiking trip in Banff National Park. I have always been stubborn about checking a bag, so there was no way a tent was coming to Banff, and how would we get from Calgary to Banff National Park without a crazy Uber fee or U-Haul?

-It solved all the problems. Camping shelter for the night? = U-haul, Transportation to and from Calgary, throughout the park itself? =U-Haul. No young driver fees, and able to rent a car underage? = U-haul.

-It was quite the blast two teenagers pulling up in a U-Haul next to 100k+ campers, and we worked with the absolute bare minimum, but hey, I needed to cross Banff off the bucket list.

-We hit the trails hard every day. We had to see almost all of Banff National Park in 4 days. Bear bells and bear spray. One day, we met a kind Spaniard and exchanged stories and laughter as we trekked through the woods.

-I have never seen water so blue, tasted tea so good (located in the Lake Agnes tea house), and heard too much rustling in the bushes within the bear country for my good.

Thank you Banff,

Mandi
